SCENE(SEEN)/HERE(HEAR) is a summer programming series focusing on the theme of freedom in three artistic disciplines: literature, film and music.

THE MUSICIANS
La Big Vic
wish

VIDEO ARTISTS

Jon Williams
Rebecca Gaffney

CURATED BY CHRISTIAN FULLER

FROM THE CURATOR:
“The musicians and artists of the music program of SCENE(SEEN)/HERE(HEAR) evoke spiritual and psychological freedom. La Big Vic’s sound embodies the essence of exploration; breaking through mental constraints imposed by societal concerns to an unknown place full of endless possibilities. Like La Big Vic, the sonic boundaries of wish are limitless. A melodious shaman, wish uses arpeggiation to cleanse the spirit and oversaturated psyche. Jon Williams’ and Rebecca Gaffney’s video work disintegrates optical confinement and replaces linear perception, playing with the moment that occurs before we have time to completely formulate imagery and make it familiar.

I am pleased to present these artists and musicians in one program and have a sense that when the audience walks away they will feel a little lighter on their feet.”

And on Sunday, 31 July 2001:

  • 31 July 2011 / Vibes Management presents: @ Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos 271 Starr St (between Wyckoff Ave & St Nicholas Ave) Brooklyn, NY 11237

And lastly, I sat in with Excepter on Wednesday evening; here’s the bootleg: STREAM 72.
